preschool holiday program

Alexander's preschool had a holiday program a few weeks ago. This is "Jingle Bells" - not a lot of singing going on, but it's pretty entertaining still. (He's the one kind of in the middle, with a red sweater and green scarf - and halfway through the song, he starts saying "mommy" and tries to stand up!)

First time meeting Santa!

We were in New York last weekend and saw Santa at Macy's on 34th Street! Alexander was understandably a little nervous about sitting on Santa's lap by himself, so we opted for the family photo instead.

Halloweenies 2009

Alexander invited his girlfriends, Charlotte, Immi, and Zia, over for a pre-Halloween party. We tried to get the kids to post for some costume pics, but it's not easy to get 4 busy toddlers to cooperate! Alexander had to have a costume change early on - from disco dancer to cowboy. It was a fun afternoon!

We stopped by a fire station a few blocks from our house and the fireman on duty let Alexander climb around in the truck - he was SO excited. Then later, he was equally if not more excited to play inside Harvey's smelly crate. Go figure.

Snowing in Texas!

Alexander had so much fun playing with the "snow"! We'll have to show this Texan the real stuff someday.

Our visit to Washington DC

Last weekend, we went to DC to visit the "Kesel-fish" family (Gene, Maia and Mirabelle) and the Kilbrides (Paul and Melissa). It was great seeing everyone's house and neighborhoods, and the National Zoo was the highlight of the trip for Alexander! When he's a little older, we'll have to go back and check out the museums.

Trip to Ann Arbor, Michigan

We went to Ann Arbor for Labor Day weekend and had a great time! We stayed with Beckett (and his parents Brynn and Jeff) and went to the UM v. Western Michigan football game (well, the short guys stayed home w/ Beckett's grandparents). And on Sunday Baba and Grandpa Jim came to Zingerman's for lunch, and Calum (and his parents Sarah and Don) came over for a BBQ. Thanks to everyone for a very fun weekend!

Michigan part 2 - Grandpa and Nonna's house in Cadillac

After the wedding and in Traverse City (see next post) and swimming with Uncle Zach at the hotel, we spent a few days in Cadillac at Grandpa and Nonna's house in Cadillac. We had a great time!!

Michigan part 1 - cousin Jeff and Julie's wedding

Alexander and I (mommy) went to Traverse City, Michigan for my cousin Jeff's wedding to Julie. It was Alexander's first wedding and he did pretty well - and looked so handsome in his suit! These pictures include Great Grandma Simmons (met her for the first time!), Nonna, Grandpa, Aunt Sarah and of course, cousin Madalyn! Aren't they such cute cousins?!?

We played in Nanny's pool last weekend with Alexander's cousin Madalyn, who helped him get more confident with his swimming "skills." We also visited Great-Grandpa Mair at his new home. Our little Alexander showed off all his new words, body parts, and animal sounds for the elder Alexander (aka Sandy).

First day of school

July 1st was Alexander's first day at his new montessori preschool. He was so excited to carry his new lunch bag and nap mat - with an airplane/train/boat pattern! We were all a little nervous at first but then the teachers took him outside on the slide and he had a great time.

Dance Party

Alexander had a sleepover the other night with his friend Charlotte, while Charlotte's mommy was in the hospital with her new baby sister. The latest dance moves include "belly out" - it's a classic.

Michigan visitors

Our friends Brynn and Jeff, and their son Beckett, came to visit from Michigan. Beckett and Alexander are only 7 weeks apart so they had a GREAT time together! Alexander was pretty worn out after a very fun weekend. Thanks for coming guys!!
